Your party or wedding is a very special event, and often you need a special, one-of-a-kind, invitation to set the tone for the event. And they are less expensive than you might think! We will work within your budget to create a unique, creative, hand assembled invitation that will be an exciting announcement and a special keepsake for years to come.
Here's how to order a custom design:
We recommend ordering a sample. Although not required, the sample is the best way to get a feel for our quality and style. If you decide to place an order, the cost of the sample(s) will be deducted from the final cost of your order.
Decide how much you can afford to spend on invitations. The reality is that most of us have a limit to what we can spend on weddings and parties. So we prefer to design within what you can afford, so you can avoid any budget overage and unhappy surprises. We can still create your dream invitation...just within the reality of your budget.
Decide on your quantity. Plan 5% over what you'll think you'll need; it's better to have a few extra--printing additional invitations after the initial order will be more costly. (Remember: invitations are usually one per couple--so 100 invitations for about 200 guests), plus extra for last-minute invites and a few to keep for memories. We will also include a few extra envelopes for addressing errors.
Decide on your wording. We've listed a some wording ideas to give you ideas, but you can choose to say whatever you would like (another good resource is www.Verseit.com . If we are working on your design, you usually have a little time to get this worked out. Just email it to us at mail@funvitationinvites.com. )
Choose a font style from the font page---or let the designer suggest fonts for you. If you would like to use a font not found on the list, we have others to choose from, or we can try to purchase that font for you (additional charges may apply).
Contact Us...and let us interview you. We will ask you some questions to get a feel for what you are looking for, and the type of event you have in mind, based on your likes, dislikes, personal syle, colors and your budget.
Then, WE get to work...
Design Process: After that, we will ask for a down payment to get start designing. We create 3 unique design concepts, based upon the information you gave us!
Proofing: After you select your invitation design, you will have opportunities to make revisions (up to 4 times) before the final proof. Custom design proofs will arrive via e-mail (in a .pdf file format) or we can send by postal if you like. After you've chosen a design, we can help you determine paper, ribbon and ink choices. We can send paper, ribbon and ink samples for you to see.
Cost: Once you've chosen a design, paper, ink and trimming, we will give you a cost estimate. The total balance is due after you have approved your final proof, before we start production. If you give us your budget at the beginning of the design process, we will design to fit your budget. And we can work within most budgets to get your invitation designed!
Ordering Time: We plan 2-3 weeks for the design and proofing process, and 3-5 weeks after that for printing and assembly, for a total of 5-8 weeks. Rush orders may be possible, but additional fees may be charged for rush work.
